About Us

Step by Step Childminding is set in the Halesowen area and within walking distance from Rowley Regis Train Station in the West Midlands. Working with children from birth to 13 years old. Pick up and drop off is done at Hurst Green Primary School and Jack in the Box Pre-school (Please contact if your child goes to a different school/pre-school as we may be able to help or we may be able to in the future by use of a CRB checked, first aid trained, childminding assistant but without your details we cannot make this happen)

Hi i am Leeanne and i am an Ofsted registered childminder here at Step by Step Childminding. I am 26 years old with 2 children of my own and a step son who doesn't live with us but we care for every other weekend. I also live with my partner Jay who is also CRB checked. I have 10 years experience working with children in a number of settings from day nurseries, schools, children's centres, special needs schools and pre-schools. I enjoy using all my ideas to create interesting and stimulating activities for the children to help them learn and develop and also gain new experiences and have fun :) I have completed all relevant childminder training and i hold a certificate in First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding and also including my Level 3 qualification Diploma in Childcare and Education.

Setting

At Step by Step the downstairs is registered. We have a dining area, this is where the children will eat and it is also our play room. All toys are in baskets and children have access to these. We also have a small table and chairs for the children to sit comfortable at as well as high chairs, bouncers and bumbos for babies. We promote hand washing and good hygiene habits in our setting and encourage children to do this. We also use the living room area, which is where children can watch educational DVDs, or use as the “snug” where a travel cot is used for babies and there are pillows for children to sleep and relax. The bathroom is downstairs and children can use this when they need to, as well as a child seat which fits onto the toilet seat and a step to reach the sink. We also have a garden with outdoor toys including a small slide/climbing frame and a gazebo so that children are sheltered from the sun, or rain if outdoor activities are out (we use the garden for activities every day). Also I provide sand and water play and we do grow our own seeds here. The garden is gated off so that children are safe. We also have displays in the play room for you to see your children’s special creative work or photos (if permission is given).
